DM DS2 M2IP Hard Drive Change....

Hi All,

 

does anyone know if the process as shown in this thread http://www.cctvforum.com/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7369 would also work for the next model up?

 

I have a hard drive that i know works in a DVTU model and a SATA convertor... but i want to change the cruddy 160Gb hd for a 1Tb one...

 

any advice would be appreciated

So are you saying i just need to put the new hard drive in DVR and then follow the procedure shown on the document? I dont need to do anything with the drive first like previous DVR's?

The HDD change procedure in the M2IP platform is easier then in the previous Legacy platform (DVTR, DVTU, DVTX).

So just install the new drive and put the upgrade CD, format all drives and that should be ok yeah?

Not necessarily - rather than replace the existing drive, you can add another one (there is a place on the DVR to mount two drives) and format only the new disk.
