ANDYDUDLEY1970 0 Posted February 17, 2013 Hiya guys n gals i have just joined here have been reading some of the posts for help but thought id post my specif problem. I have bought a new Qvis DVR for my home cctv network. We have sky broadband at home. I have connected my dvr to the router via an ethernet cable & have assigned an ip address to my dvr which i have pinged via config on my laptop & via the Sky router both of which returned fine. I have access to my sky router & on the upnp portmap table the ports which were assigned to the dvr show up however i cant view my cameras either on my laptop, my samsung tablet or my phone? milkisbad 0 Posted February 17, 2013 First I would go to canyouseeme.org and test to see if indeed the ports needed are opened. Also from canyouseeme.org, your external (WAN) address is displayed, if your ports are configured correctly, you should be able to type that address into your browser and bring up the DVR on a REMOTE computer. If you are at home using a comp that is on the same network, you can put in the local ip address that shows up on your dvr (something like 192.168.x.x) Depending on router brand, you can use the external IP both locally and remotely. (linksys and belkin can, old netgear can't i think) As for the tablet and phone, you will have to read the user manual or ask Avis (its most likely on their webpage's faq) to find which specific app the DVR requires. Can't just use the broswer and use the ip like a computer.
