nstarz 0 Posted February 22, 2013 I'm planning on getting the Q-See 16 Channel Security System with 1TB Hard Drive, 2 Dome Cameras and 10 Bullet Cameras. I google searched Q-see in this forum and read a dozen or so thread about it. I understand it is the top of the "lower" tier of them. http://www.costco.com/Q-See-16-Channel-Security-System-with-1TB-Hard-Drive%2c-2-Dome-Cameras-and-10-Bullet-Cameras.product.100017411.html#BVRRWidgetID It includes WHAT'S INCLUDED 1-year Q-See Warranty & Lifetime Technical Support 16-Channel Real-Time CIF/ D1 DVR with 1TB Hard Drive (QT4760) (10) High-Resolution Bullet Cameras with Mounting Hardware (QM6006B) (2) High-Resolution Dome Cameras with Mounting Hardware (QM6007D) (12) 60ft Cable for flexible installation (3) 4-way camera power adapter for efficient installation USB Mouse and Remote Control CD-Rom with Remote Viewing Software and Manuals Power supply for DVR RJ-45 Ethernet Cable Standard HDMI® Cable BNC to RCA adapter I see the QT4760 DVR is selling for $200+ on ebay. Are there better DVR at this price? I know this DVR records only at D1 Recording Option: 120 FPS (7.5 FPS Per Channel), 704x480 Resolution CIF Recording Option: 480 FPS (30 FPS Per Channel), 352x240 Resolution So I'm limited to the 7.5 FPS. I also searched and read that better resolution is better than lower one, even with less FPS. I probably don't even need 12 cameras. Probably 8 is enough. Any suggestions/comments? SectorSecurity 0 Posted February 26, 2013 At 7.5 FPS don't expect any good quality video, it will be all choppy. Mind you not all channels have to record at D1 resolution. Or if you really want to set it up set up the DVR so it records at CIF unless motion is detected then kick just the single channel into D1 res.
nstarz 0 Posted February 27, 2013 Thanks. I will check for that option then.
