cgcmgr 0 Posted March 7, 2013 Hi Guys, I Put together a makeshift dome enclosure for a camera I have. I tested it out for the whole year and noticed it worked flawlessly during the winter (don't even think I had the heater connected), but crapped out during the hot days of the summer, I would lose video. When the temperature dropped (at night) the video came back on. So it looks like the camera is overheating. I do have a fan blowing down on the bottom of the camera to help cool it, but obviously it doesn't do the job. I was thinking of adding 2 more fans (small ones) on each side of the inside of the enclosure pointing at the camera. I know the blowers in enclosures are really only to stop the dome from fogging, but I was hoping it would help with the cooling. I'm also planning on making a heat shield out of aluminum to cover the dome. Does anyone have any suggestions on some good strong blowing small fans that I can mount in the enclosure? I'd say the fans should be about 2" x 2". They must also be 12v DC. For that matter, I wouldn't mind changing the single fan I have in there now. It is a 60mm x 60mm fan, again it must be 12v DC. Thanks, Chris
bigglebowski 0 Posted March 7, 2013 60mm is slightly larger than 2" but if that fits here is what newegg sells in 60mm fans. I guess check specs on air flow volume for ones that move the most air in CFM. This is just a keyword search so some of the the results are not just fans. This is about the size of a cpu heatsink fan, so there will be some of them. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&N=-1&isNodeId=1&Description=60mm+fan
