jdsmith101 0 Posted March 13, 2013 I may be interested in this. But I must admit, I'm not real versed on this unit, or the whole NVR setup in general. I intend to purchase 8 Dahua HFW2100N cameras, and am running CAT 6 on the outside of my house right before I have new siding installed. I understand that if I only run CAT6 wire, I will need a POE switch to make them work? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
vector18 1 Posted March 13, 2013 Yes, the cameras need POE if not running a seperate power cable. This NVR has four POE ports so you would either need to run additional power lines or purchase an additional POE switch and plug the network port of the NVR into the switch.
