Decentralized Ip Camera cant send to FTP

Recommended Posts

Hi.

I have bought a "Network Cam" (AVN211ZV /F46-S). It is N211 for short.

Here is a link to the PDF: http://www.surveillance-download.com/user/n211_quick.pdf

It does not mention how to get FTP working..

Here is a description of the product:

Very affordable and stable IP camera (digital). With its 1/3 "CCD sensor camera it delivers a clear color image, streamed at 25 frames / sec, with a resolution of 738x480 pixels (VGA/D1). It is thanks to the highly intelligent" MPEG4 AVC "compression that the camera successfully delivers 25 frames / sec (real time).

The camera can be mounted on the wall or ceiling and then plugged easily into your router / gateway / switch, or directly to a computer (with accompanying cross-cable) if desired. It can of course also be connected straight into the wall network jack, without the need for either the router, switch, or other optional equipment. Then you can access the camera locally (LAN) and remotely (via the internet / WAN). The actual recording is stored, using the included software on any computer or NAS / NVR, either locally or via the Internet. The computer used for the storage does not need to be at the same location as the camera, but can be located anywhere, provided there is internet access. If you have not access to a computer at all or do not want a computer running all the time, you can also let the camera upload material itself to a specified FTP.

The included software installs with ease and then make your computer into an advanced monitoring center. Because it is unlicensed, you can put it on any number of computers. The software can then manage up to 16 cameras simultaneously, either as divided images on the screen ("Multi-picture" / "split-screen") or full screen with switching between cameras. You can select whether the recording should be continuous or manual, time and / or event-driven (eg, calendar-based movement recording). The built-in motion detection is very powerful and can be configured exactly to the user's preference. Upon detection, the camera can also alert and send videos via e-mail/FTP when something happens. All camera settings can easily be changed from a distance, after typing in the password. Up to 10 users can be logged on the camera at the same time and different user privileges can be given.

Is it at a temporary / public computer, or for any other reason are not able to install the included software, you can also, thanks to the camera's built-server, access the camera by entering the IP number (HTTP) in a standard web browser (Internet Explorer, Netscape, etc.). Finally, the camera is also an analog video output, if for some reason you wish to connect it to a semi-digital system, such as monitoring cards, DVR, etc..

So now I know the software and I have also logged in to the cameras website-system. The problem is that I cant get the camera to send any video files to my FTP-Server. I have everything correct and my FTP-Server does not notice any connection. I have the router: Asus RT-N66U. What could be the problem when both the camera and server are on LAN?

The other problem is that on my computer (where the software is installed) it seems to correctly save video clips every time its triggered by movement.

So I have them on my HDD but the problem is they are useless to me if I cant watch them. They have the file ending of: .AVC (then there is an .idx file for each .AVC file). I have set in the software (website-system shows AVI too) that I want AVI files instead of AVC. Because there is an option. However even after reboot of the ip-camera it still records AVC files. VideoLan cant play the .AVC file (nor idx) and when I try with "VideoPlayer.exe" then it shows a System Error:

The program can't start because avcodec-52.84.0.dll is missing from your ccomputer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

This .dll file I cant find anywhere on the web but if I get one then it may be the solution to one of the problems.

I want help from you people here in this surveillance forum.
