what-da 0 Posted April 1, 2013 I am after advise or if any one has pics ? I would like your opinion on Avigilon outdoor IR Bullet camera vs Sony IR Bullet camera. I have heard great things about both and both have very similar technology built into both of them. Thanks in advance guys
buellwinkle 0 Posted April 1, 2013 Those are such obscure brands, not sure people have experience with one let alone both. Sony does make a good TV, I'll leave it at that.
what-da 0 Posted April 2, 2013 Has anyone got access to IPVM that can tell me the verdict of this two reviews? http://ipvm.com/report/testing_avigilons_h3_wdr_camera http://ipvm.com/report/bosch_starlight_test Thanks in advance
what-da 0 Posted April 2, 2013 What so funny thewireguys. I thought forums are about people helping each other and sharing their expertise. And I would like to Compare the higher end cameras but I have noticed that Dahua is the most asked camera company talked about here. And Sony has been making cameras for a very long time and dominated the TV broadcast industry for a long time So since Avigilor makes an outdoor bullet IR camera and Sony makes very similar one I thought it would be a good comparison. The two cameras that interest me are 3.0W-H3-BO1-IR vs Sony IPELA SNC-CH280. Thanks in advance

what-da 0 Posted April 10, 2013 I am in Australia and Avigilon is extremely rare to see here. But I will track one down. Mostly likely it will be twice as expansive than importing one from the USA

Mrcarcrazy 0 Posted April 11, 2013 Wow, so the lens, and all the small components are made in Canada? That's shocking...somewhat unbelievable. Only thing that would be better if it was from the good ol USA. But we can't hate you just for being Canadian.

Mostly likely it will be twice as expansive than importing one from the USA Im on the Gold Coast and generally sell only Avigilon products. the camera prices aren't bad when you compare them to say an axis camera from Pacom or an ACTi from CSD PM if you need to know anything
Maho 0 Posted October 24, 2014 Put this to the right perspective: Sony - Open Platform ONVIF Creator Member Broadcast TV Cameras Lider Innovation Major WDR on the market - 130dB View-DR Full H.264, not H.264* (M-PEG-4 V10 as others) True White Balance: do you know what is this? no one know better than Sony how to process the colors according to differents lighting sources. etc etc etc any question? Maho 0 Posted October 24, 2014 Really? I know the guys from Sony Latin America, they have service centers, sales support, etc ...locally. I have been involved in many projects successfully. About Avigilon the only reference I have is about good software.

Don't forget to add: Over priced bad support I'm using SONY here in Poland for some time now. Support is very good, they even give you prime support warranty - they will send you new camera if you tell them that you've got broken one. No need to wait for repairs. And about quality? Those EB600 EB630 or bullets EB632R are one of the best cameras I had. Price? Box cameras are cheap, I mean they cost just like GeoVision crap. Bullets - little more expensive, but still worth it. I've got some samples from those cams, comparing to ACTi "low light" crap camera, GeoVision, Samsung, HikVision and so on. I will upload them soon on my youtube channel, for now I can post some image samples. Check them here: http://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BwSKOljhW7uETXVOb3BYaTFRSzQ&usp=sharing https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BwSKOljhW7uEaTdlb29LV3pLSzA&usp=sharing There is image from day only dome XM631 - just check how it performs at night. Also, I like the way they make datasheets, for example "Minimum Illumination" parameter: Sony EB600: For 50IRE, Color: 0.05 lx (F1.0, View-DR OFF, VE OFF, AGC ON, 1/30 s, 30 fps) Other brands (Avigilon too): 0.2 lux (F1.2) in color mode; No info about shutter, no info about IRE and so on. So, IMHO Sony is not bad at all
