a battery to power cctv 12 v. cam

Recommended Posts

does anyone make a dc battery to use to power up a cam connected to a portable battery powered dvd player [lcd moniter] when you want to rome around inside a site trying out various camera angles in a clients bussiness? basically you could have both the camera and the screen to see the picture from any place you want without haveing to drag a 12v. power line from a block transformer pluged into an outlet.

We have a spare rechargeable battery that came with our test monitor, we frequently use that to power a camera to show a customer different camera angles etc

amps on a battery does not mean it will push 20amps into the device/camera and wreck it......the camera "pulls" the amperage needed, the wire diameter allows the proper amperage to travel to the device.

amps as identified on a battery can equate to a 2 cups of water, one full and one half full. the full one is 20 amps and the half full is 10 amps. you plug into each with the same "hose" to drain them........one lasts longer than the other due to more water (amps).

amps as drained is dependant on the device amperage and the size of the wire.....the wire has to meet the needs of the required amperage.

hope that helps...........sorry if it was too "deep"

We use those radioshack 15 minute rechargable batteries for our test monitors. They are worth there weight in gold. When you batteries run out all you

About the only thing at radioshack worth its weight in anything
