SB_Jim 1 Posted April 13, 2013 Howdy, Is there any compelling reason that I should consider in purchasing a monitor for home use? It appears I could buy a dummy HD monitor for about the same price as an equivalent sized (21.5") name brand TV that happens to have more HDMI & input options than the monitor. Here's the TV options: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung+-+22%22+Class+(21-1/2%22+Diag.)+-+LED+-+1080p+-+60Hz+-+HDTV/7979341.p?id=1218863185005&skuId=7979341 Thanks, Jim
ysman 0 Posted July 19, 2013 From my experience, computer monitors always work better with standalone units. This is mostly due to many folks thinking they have a great HD TV, but really is a 720P or even worse, it has a hard time handling certain resolutions even if it is rated for 1080P. Also, you can get a really great quality LED computer monitor for cheaper than many TVs. If you can find a TV that works well with your unit, and it has more inputs, go for it...just be aware than many times you will have to lower the resolution and/or adjust the screen dimensions to fit the TV.
