rcosazzi 0 Posted April 14, 2013 I would like to install a camera a couple miles from my home and stream the video. How can this be done? I'm assuming I need a router at the remote location. How can I set-up internet access there? It is an empty lot with no buildings. thx,
Q2U 0 Posted April 14, 2013 A whole lot more information is needed bro. This remote location would need power and some kind of Internet connection.
ronp 0 Posted April 14, 2013 As Q2U said, you'll need internet access installed at the remote location. Call the cable TV company or phone company that covers the area and ask them what the minimum level of service is. You're probably looking at $50/month, maybe less for the first year as an introductory rate. Once you have that and their router installed, there are a variety of single IP cameras that you can connect to the router for streaming video to another location. I've had good luck with Sharx Security cameras for this type of application.
