nalexia 0 Posted November 18, 2005 Hi Guys this is my first post as ive up to now been browsing through the forum trying to get a feel for what system would be suitable for a retail outlet. I would be looking for a system that can record 8 cameras at 30 fps and be capable of audio on at least 3 of the cameras. any info would be appreciated on what spec would be required etc as i dont mind building a suitable pc and installing the hardware and software if its cost affective. I`ve seen numerous cards/systems on ebay and seen the comments on this site but there are some who say they are registered with geovision and only use legit components, (these are mainly in america and i am uk based) and the prices look competitive, are these to good to be true or are they worth a gamble? has anyone used these type of companies before?. Also if ther are any Uk based Agents out there who can sell me the right components at the right price let me know. cheers
kandcorp 0 Posted November 18, 2005 Hello nalexia and welcome to the forums, Question time: You say 30fps...do you want that per channel or divided amoung the channels. If that was divided it would result in a total of 60fps.(7.5fps per ch.) What kind of application? Are you looking for cameras too? where?

baywatch 1 Posted November 19, 2005 Maybe the Geovision GV1240 8 camera card would suit you. Have a look at for the card. We are nothing to do with RF but if you want a complete system then maybe we can help.
nalexia 0 Posted November 20, 2005 Is there anyone who can supply me with a Gv1240 card for 8 Cameras or would a 16 camera card be a better option as i guess that if i need to expand later it would probably be a smarter move. Am i right in saying that if i only use 8 channels i would be able to record at 30 fps but if i use 9+ cameras then the recording rate would reduce?
