LoneWolfUk 0 Posted April 17, 2013 New user here. Had a quick look around the forum but couldnt find the answers I need. I am looking for an outdoor wifi webcam that has night time infared to connect to PC. I wanted to use it to monitor my back yard while away. I want wifi because there is access to power near where I want to install but the router is two rooms and a corridor away so would require a lot of tricky cabling. I was hoping I could set it up as a simple webcam and use a program to set it to motion sensitive and just play back what was captured on return. After doing a bit of reading I am thinking I will need a 5.8ghz camera to avoid interference as it is in a very urban area with lots of wifi signals around. However I am slightly confused as to if these cams connect to a PC and if they work like wifi webcam or are just line of sight devices. Any help will be greatly appreciated
shankarsha 0 Posted April 23, 2013 Hi, you can use wifi camera without any problem. 5.8ghz will make your system more complex.
