bluegene 0 Posted April 17, 2013 Hello All, My question is that i have deployed an analogue cctv system of 8 cameras,the output near the dvr is a monitor which will obviously get its input through dvr vga port,we also have another output in seperate room which is an LG TV.I just want to know that would it be possible and workable to terminate the coax cable from dvr output to the wall plate and then get the other coax lead between wall plate outlet to the tv input.Thank You Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
bigglebowski 0 Posted April 17, 2013 A wall plate is just a splice so yes of course you can do that. You could also put a male RCA connector on the end of the cable behind the wall plate. An RCA connector will will be more commonly found on "consumer" model TVs. It also may be more common to find RCA pass through wall plates than BNC. Or use adapters, you choice. bigglebowski 0 Posted April 18, 2013 Since this is composite video feel free to adapt to whatever connector you wish: F, RCA, BNC. For example you could go to just about any hardware store and buy a wall plate that has an F splice (refered to as F-81) connection on it. Thats what I was suggesting is that the TV has RCA, the DVR has BNC. At the wall plate it could be an F to F (barrel). So either use a tool to put the appropriate ends on each end or buy adapters like F to RCA, or F to BNC, BNC to RCA etc. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
