Newbee here saying Hello to all you cyberspace people

I am 70 years old and just purchased a Pelco DX816-500 at a University auction. I hooked it up to the putter and discovered I needed software and a harddrive. I have those on the way.

 

Now I am going to need cameras. Probable 3 outside and a couple inside. They don't need to move, just stationary. Would like them to be motion sensitive and infered type for night vision and recording.

 

My house caught on fire Christmas and they are doing the repairs. Some strangers now have keys to my house for cleanup and repairs and would like to monitor things when I go to see my Grandkids for the weekend.

 

What would you all suggest for cameras? and installation locations etc.
