jcarrolln 0 Posted April 24, 2013 I realize how mundane this question will be to you readers, but I need help. I am competent with 120/240 AC wiring, but not the "really smart stuff". I have a security system which was removed without documentation, and with dikes on the wiring. All parts are not present. I have a monitor, Vitek VT-E4 DVR, Microtek MiniLink 2.4R wireless units, and CVC 350BC, or CVC 360BC cameras (can't read the labels). My job is to restore this equipment to operational condition for security monitoring. My first question is how to wire the cameras - there is a red, white, and black wire. What goes to where? Thx in advance..
the toss 0 Posted April 24, 2013 almost certainly the red & black will be power ( 12Vdc or 24Vac) while the white will be the video signal ( together with the black earth )
jcarrolln 0 Posted April 25, 2013 Thx, installer ....... Cameras are 12vdc, so power to the camera would be red for + 12v black for - 12v and take the video signal away on the white, with the black (-12v) using a two conductor cable. Is that correct?
