DVR - TV

Recommended Posts

yes .. plug into the AV input .. or use a RF modulator and set to a channel from something for example. 69-114. You can also create multiple views, as the RF mods come in 1-4 channel versions.

For this you need a DVR with a composite output .. (BNC).

If using a PC DVR, then either the Video Card Output, or much much better, a DSP card output, which is analogue high res. BTW the average Video Card output is not that great quality, but the DSP is great.

A CCTV monitor will be greatest quality, and if using a TV, direct AV input will be better quality than a RF Modulator.

Most of the time I setup DVR's for home use, I setup using their TV's. Just plug the output of the DVR into one of the "AV" plugs (video), and you have it. Find one of the new style TV's which have several "AV" inputs, as almost all do now a days. "Flash" the "AV" button on the remote control between TV inputs and the other AV inputs. I use this at home also. I can watch TV in bed at night , and when I want to, "flash" the remote control between the AV input from my DVR to check cameras on the house, and then "flash" back to TV. My wife loves this when I am gone. I setup my DVR output for the 4 camera screen. Try it, saves a bundle on a CCTV monitor.

I figured it out thanks for the advise. However trying to use any of the functions would not work on the main monitor output. I had to put it on the spot monitor output on the DVR. Is this common for TV,s somthing about analog? It worked on the Main Monitor, but I could not use any of the functions, like the menue. When I put it on the spot monitor output it worked.

if its a stand alone DVR it will always be the main monitor out. Spot is only for a single view of 1 camera input or sequencing.
