Additional cameras causing interference

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Newbie on here though I've followed a number of threads on here.

Following a bit of a bargain on a site, I bought a 4 camera Swann kit. I've had a number of issues fitting it due to the way the house is so I only managed to get one camera up facing the front door from inside. This has been working without any issues and recording 24/7 quite clearly though motion detect email is not working but that'll be another thread!

I finally got round to fit the garden camera. While this works, both cameras how now got what looks like smoke going across it when you look at it online or via the phone. Clearly interference of some sort. Looking more closely, you could say its horizontal lines.

I'm using a Cat5 cable bought from a company called mie-cctv. (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320769622197)

The CCTV kit consists of the main DVR and 4 cameras along with another plug that has 4 wires coming out of it to power the cameras.

Lastly, the ends consist of BALUN adaptors as per http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320691761031

And male/female power adaptors: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220745730200

Wiring is

orange : + Video

orange/white: - Video

Green + blue + Green/white = + Power

Brown + Brown/white + blue white = - Power

on both ends.

Appreciate any help on this - I am fairly new to all this so do dumb it down :- )

Thanks in advance
