Jackster 0 Posted April 26, 2013 Hello everyone. After experimenting with some cheapo China bought cameras over the last 6 months I am looking to set up a full 4 camera setup with 2 extra cameras that ill have on later. Especially as I caught a guy in my garden last week. I don't have a big budget and I am quite happy with analog above 600 lines so I am looking to get a set of 4 day/night cameras and a 4 BNC 100FPS capture card to go inside my home server. My server specs is an AMD x6 with 2GB of RAM (will upgrade to 4GB soon) as well as a 250GB HD for storage. The 250GB HD is more than enough. Only used 15GB for a week of video on 2 cameras, I don't need to store it all for a month, week will do. I will be using BlueIris for the software. I bought it a few weeks back and love it. Android app rocks and I am getting it to work on my Android TV soon So I am in need of 4 cameras and a capture card that is PCIx. So far I have found a card on eBay. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-Channel-120fps-D1-Real-time-H-264-Network-3G-PCI-E-CCTV-Video-Capture-DVR-Card-/321029309117?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item4abed682bd Should work fine with generic drivers I take it? As for the cameras I can't make my mind up. I have seen some $30 ones on China wholesale that are "600lines" at 510H×492V. IDK that much about the old analog, more of a digital guy but I can't afford it all. Looking at the cheap end. But not cheap that the quality is crap. Any suggestions are welcome. Though note I am in the UK and sites like Costco.com don't ship to the UK. Costco UK do and I can go to a Costco but there is no range here. Thanks
Jackster 0 Posted May 9, 2013 Hey all. Would love some input into this system. Had some strange stuff happen tonight where there has been no recordings for 2 hours and a static camera move from where it was set looking up the garden to being pointed down to the floor. So would love to move everything to a new system that is secured in my house. Thanks
Kawboy12R 0 Posted May 10, 2013 Copied from a place that sells Blue Iris for recommended cards- "Use generic BT848/878 cards, or we specifically recommend the 4-channel PV149 and 8/16-channel Hikvision DS-40xx cards".
