hs99 0 Posted April 28, 2013 Hi all, I just bought this NVR http://www.amazon.com/QC804-1-Completely-Digital-Recorder-Pre-Installed/dp/B009F7EQPY/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top Instead of buying the one from Costco, I decided to buy the stand alone NVR so that I could add 1080 cameras to it instead of the 720 cams Costo includes. Now I am realizing that may not be possible. My question is, can I only run one 1080 camera with this 4 channel system and nothing else? Or 2, 720 cameras and nothing else? Or can I mix it up? and, what kind of cameras can I use on this NVR? are all IP, POE, HD cameras alike? I looked on Q-See's website and couldn't seem to find a list of compatible cameras/brands. Thanks!

mazda charles 0 Posted May 22, 2013 What was the answer? I'm a relative newbie too and looking for a system for my parent's house. Also, do you like it? Thanks for your help.
hs99 0 Posted May 22, 2013 Yeah I'm sort of disapointed that no one on this board tried to help me since I was new. since the old timers didn't take the time to help me out (the mods could have at least tried to help) I don't know why I should contribute but you sound retarded like me so us retards on here have to help each other since the big boys won't. Whatever. I ended up buying two cameras from ebay. they were dahua brand. the seller was cool...chinese people out of new york. they really know their stuff and have helped a lot. i got 1 bullet 720 and another 1080p. the 720 is great but i put the 1080 in front of my house and the clarity was amazing. http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-Megapixel-Security-Camera-IR-Network-IP-1080P-ONVIF-3-3-12mm-High-Definition-/370794508385?pt=US_Security_Cameras&hash=item5655133061 that was the 1080 I got. I had my handyman mount it and run the single ethernet wire through my attic and into my office room where the NVR is. it was pretty easy set up, even for me. i first ordered the 720 from them because their ebay profile says they charge a 20% restocking fee if you return the item (WTF), and i was worried it wouldn't be compatible with my unit. luckily it was ..and after speaking to the boss dude, he told me that in reality that's not true if you call and explain to them the situation. luckily it worked
