Stan75648 0 Posted April 29, 2013 Hi, I've been reading here for about two weeks and kind of know the basics but wonder about motion activation on a low end analog camera. I want to install a system on my boat for when i sleep there. 1. I want something that will wake me up if an intruder shows up and show me where they are. 2. I'd like a system that will record motion activated night/day when I'm not there. I really don't need super clear images, really just need to know when someone is in the area, another question, would it be better to use day cameras and white light or IR? one problem with white light would be if the 110v. goes out, there is 4 12v. batteries on the boat tho. now that I think of it, wireless would probably be better because if a camera was mounted on the bow of the boat, waves will produce motion (duh) so I could mount a wireless on my shed maybe, and one near the drivers seat on the boat. Thanks.
need2shave 0 Posted April 29, 2013 There is no low end solution besides a PIR monitor and alarm and I'm not sure how they'll be affected by waves. Video won't work for motion detection unless you want to be up all night for false alarms. If you want a video solution, you need something like VideoIQ...but again, that's not a low end solution. Stan75648 0 Posted April 30, 2013 Thanks need2shave, you got me thinking, maybe I could use infrared beams to turn cameras on somehow?
