joseph.chen0312 0 Posted May 20, 2013 The answer is no for normal Balun but now some supplier has developing dedicate HD-SDI balun which only support upto 50 meter. If the distance is not enough for you you may consider equipping HD-SDI to Optical Fiber convertors.
Swann Tech 0 Posted July 16, 2013 Yes, but in my opinion a waste of time. You'd be better off putting the $70 or so *per camera* for the baluns into getting a NVR system instead. Source: B&H website
Kawboy12R 0 Posted July 23, 2013 $70/pair for baluns??? I can buy baluns locally for about $18/pair. They're real baluns, too, not the empty cheapos that're basically wire adapters.
JLinks 0 Posted July 23, 2013 Yes, but the balun are still very expensive and not that stable yet. A pair right now is around $85. It's not the same as the normal analog system balun that's why it's more expensive. And the one that I saw last time only take RJ45 head.
SectorSecurity 0 Posted July 24, 2013 Regular Baluns are about 9$ a pair right now, HD-SDI ones are between 80-100$ a pair. The HD-SDI ones go 400FT @ SD and 150FT @ HD.
