Hi, I am currently unemployed with lots of time on my hands.

 

I have experience in electronics, computers, and networking.

 

I've been interested in branching out into CCTV installs for some time. I have a friend that needs an 8 camera system and I told him I'd look into what needs to be done.

 

This site is a great resource and I hope to be learning and contributing whenever possible.

 

Any suggestions on breaking and entering into the business?

Just curious as to the best way to learn about CCTV?

 

Is there a tech school? Online? or is OJT the better way to go?

 

 

That said, what are the better, or best companies? I see the ADT ads on the tele, but is that the way to go?

Welcome. The best way to go is to live here for several months and read and read and read.

 

And take a course in local area networking if you are able.

Thanks, I was just looking at the local community college for networking classes.

 

I'm pretty familiar with wans and lans, but it's mostly OJT.

 

I bet there's a few things I could glean from a proper class.
