AVTECH DR-082Z "BRICKED" after Firmware Update

Recommended Posts

My DVR is a Avtech DR-082z

After the firmware update failed, every time I turn on my DVR, I can see the next screen

… and the DVR get stuck there.

As I was told, using the firmware

ftp://211.75.84.102/Firmware/DR082_1013.rar

… I followed the instructions shown in

**** http://www.pushvideoclub.com/viewtopic.php?f=99&t=163 ***

Following the above instructions I can say:

1) I don’t have any of the COMPATIBLE USB FLASH DRIVE so I used

• 4GB Imation Nano USB Device

• 2 GB Verbatin TUFF N TINNY USB Device

2) In my USB I tranfered the next files (RAR Archive, RAR archive uncompressed in 1013-1004-1008-1004 Directory and RAR archive uncompressed in ROOT Directory)

3) When making the chip resistor short-circuited, I “NEVER” hear the BEEP, but I can see the next screen:

And the DVR get stuck there.

3) Questions:

• Am I making something wrong?

• Is the problem the USB Flash I am using it? (I could never see the Screen showed in “STEP 4”

• Does this DVR only works with a limited number of USB Drives?

Please, help me to find a solution
