DAlba 0 Posted June 4, 2013 After having a brick thrown through one of our car windows parked on my driveway I just ordered a Dahua NVR5208-P and some Costco Swann 820 cameras. I plan on installing them under the eave of my home. I have motion flood lights on the corners of my home. Are there any generals rules to follow when using flood lights with IR cameras. Should I mount camera near flood light? Above/below/behind light? I appreciate any advice you can offer as I am a newbie!
dvarapala 0 Posted June 6, 2013 Ideally both would be mounted near each other and the FOV of the lights would coincide very closely with the FOV of the camera. I have an Axis cam mounted about 5' away from a dual-100W floodlight with no issues. In this case they are mounted on different structures and are aimed across each other somewhat. I just made sure the bulbs were not within the direct FOV of the camera.
