drumn91 0 Posted June 11, 2013 Hello all I am looking to buy some cameras for our hvac shop and start out with just 1 and build up to 4 or 6 eventually down the road. Like everyone else in the world, I would like to have HD cameras to be able to pickup as best of an image possible day OR night and I need to be able to go with a night time average distance of 30 feet but 100 feet wouldnt hurt, would it? These would be outdoor cameras and our business is in the Chicagoland area with lots of rain, storms, snow.... well... you get it. Currently, I really like the Aposonic A-HDBVP01 camera and not sure if I am setting my bar too high, but we have had enough thefts and we believe them to be occurring at night in our parking lot and really want to pick up high detail. I also looked at the newer Logitech 750e system for being simple and adding an IR booster for better night vision pickup. I would really like to just use our shop PC but this camera I believe requires an HD-SDI input connection and I am unfamiliar with this type of connection. I see a lot of video producers use these types of high end cards with high end equipment. Aposonics DVR that matches this camera is quite expensive and I am wondering if I should just spend the high dollar amount and get it if it would make my life more simple for installation, setup AND ease of use as well as durability OR if it would be less expensive, easier and more feature rich finding a PCIe card or some kind of adapters. Thank you in advance for everyones help.
SectorSecurity 0 Posted June 11, 2013 Have you considered looking at IP cameras? Usually I only use HD-SDI if I am converting an existing analog infrastructure and the customer doesn't want to pay to go IP or recable.
