getting my first system (analog) or should it be IP?????

Recommended Posts

looking to piece a system together. After much searching and reading on here and feeling like chutes and ladders, I have decided to buy the following.

I live in a Town home with my garage in front of my unit.

Digital watchdog Flex 8ch DVR with 500g for 515.00.

not sure what cameras to get yet. I do know I want one PTZ, in case I don't get my usual parking spot.

have 1 dome watching my walkway to my front door. 1 bullet watching the front of my garage. thinking 2 domes on my back porch so that there are no blind spots.

wanting to record my truck at night up to 40' with recognition. same goes for in the back yard.

I will install motion sensor lights on the front of my garage to aid in the light for the camera.

my HOA has approved all I want to do, since they can't do anything about the troubled juvenile going around and damaging everyone's cars and smashing back patio doors.

I have 900.00 to start out. I need to get something up and running ASAP. even it it is just one or two cameras.

any suggestions.

If you want an excellent ptz, look no further than this one-

I use that one at work and it's superb. I use a ptz at home similar to this one, except mine has auto tracking. It has been very nice as well-

Front door/walkway backyard domes-

For the driveway, a 3.2 which is wide enough to give you nice overall coverage-

There you go. Easy as that! Now if you insist on complicating the matter, ask why, why not, and I wonder if. That'll keep you without cameras recording for a good long time. You chose a nice dvr. All these cameras will serve you fine. Any one of them will catch the little bastard if circumstances are just right. Thousands of dollars in cameras still depend on circumstances being just right, as does 55 dollar cameras. You often do not need to spend two mortage payments to have a decent system. Keep it simple, and you may have a shot at getting a system up and recording in the near future.

Good luck!
