johnyfalco 0 Posted June 14, 2013 I have purchased a VivoTek FD8372 camera as shown here http://tinyurl.com/c6xpurv and am having problems finding a POE injector for this. Apparently the Vivotek POE injector is no longer available, so I have to find a aftermarket one. If I go to the camera specifications page it says for power input 24v AC 802.3af POE class 3. TPLINK make a POE injector as shown here http://tinyurl.com/le7yn5p and it says its 802.3af compatible but it says its 48v power input, but also says "auto determine power requirements" Does anybody know if this TPlink POE injector will work with the VivoTek FD8372 camera. Thanks for any replies.
Korgoth Of Barbaria 0 Posted June 14, 2013 If both PoE injector and camera is 802.3af - it will work fine.
MaxIcon 0 Posted June 14, 2013 Yes, that TP-Link injector should work fine with the Vivotek. Both are 802.3af compatible.
ivan_sh 0 Posted June 15, 2013 i see the website of the products , i doubt if the connect line is too longer ? now ,i do not think of the other reason.
MaxIcon 0 Posted June 15, 2013 Here's the way this works: You connect a network cable from your switch or router (that doesn't have POE) to the TL-POE150S, and plug the power supply into the TL-POE150S. These can be right at the main switch or router, or somewhere else. The TL-POE150S combines the POE power with the network signal and sends both out the network cable to the camera. This cable can be as long as necessary, up to 100M. When you plug the camera in, it talks to the TL-POE150S, and the TL-POE150S turns on the POE power. Not sure if this answers your question, but it's very simple to use.
