File structure of a linux based dvr

Hello,

I'm trying to recreate the file structure of files recovered from a hard drive of a monoprice security dvr. This drive was accidentally formatted but have not been written to.

 

Does anyone have an idea of what the folder arrangement is this type of dvr? The files I see are SWF and GZ file types.

How about just puting a new HD on that DVR, formatting it, and then checking out what file system and structure it uses?

I say good luck to you sir, I would suggest you seek help from a professional on data recovery, unless you can rechain the file allocation tables to put it all back together.

 

If you can see the files though I don't see what the problem is.

 

The hard drive should not have much of a file structure to it and is more likely referenced in linux as a mount point by the ROM, if this has confused you seek help.

Thanks for the replies. I don't have a camera hooked up to the dvr but I think I can get my hands on a drive with data on it. I will boot into a Linux and check if I can make heads or tails of the contents.
