davie261 0 Posted June 26, 2013 I want to install a small infrared beam and when something interrupts it I get an alert to my cell phone and a few lights turn. I am pretty sure this is easily done but I could use some pointers in the right direction. Any comments would be appreciated and if this is in the wrong section, feel free to move. TY in advance. SectorSecurity 0 Posted June 27, 2013 Are you planning on getting a DVR or alarm system? You will need something to trigger on the alarm input and to facilitate the output when an input is tripped. You will probably need some type of controller to turn on the lights or lights that work with z-wave devices or similar. The sensor strip would be the input and the lighting control module would be wired to the output. I am sure someone can provide you more details, but that is the basic idea.
