zekkie 0 Posted July 10, 2013 I'm planning to buy cheap optical zoom security camera. But i don't have any idea how much this 50mm lens zooms in real life. If 6 ft tall person fills view and then i zoom in full 50mm then how much i can see this person, half a person or just head or what??? Another question: is there any place where is better selection of this type of small cheap security cameras with zoom? The more zoom the better. http://www.securitycamera2000.com/products/50mm-Lens-WDR-HD-700TVL-SONY-CCD-EFFIO%252dP-OSD-Mini-Camera.html?setCurrencyId=4 Thanks
Davian 0 Posted July 11, 2013 Hi Zekkie, Going for a 5omm lens is a good idea, the first thing about them is they are cheap, if you are going for F 1.8, it's nice as the aperture is wide enough for most uses & you may even find yourself closing that up at times. Second good thing about them is the Field of Vision is very Close to the Human Eye. their zooming quality is also good enough and suitable for most purposes except being used for may be sports. If a 6 ft tall person fills the view you can capture only his head. However i suggest you to have a demonstration from some professional camera installers.
