stroked89coupe 0 Posted July 14, 2013 I am planning on wiring my house for an install down the road (New siding being put on) for an IP NON PTZ setup. Just wanted to make sure all I would need is cat5e ran to the correct locations. Thanks.
grege 0 Posted July 17, 2013 As long as you plan on doing POE then you will be good.

Owain 0 Posted July 17, 2013 yes, but run two cables now. Cable is cheap. Ripping the building apart to put another one in later if you have a wire break, or decide later you want two cameras instead of one, or have voltage drop problems, is annoying. SectorSecurity 0 Posted July 18, 2013 I agree, pulling 2 wires is just as easy as one, if you want to save a bit of money you can pull a CAT5e and pull a quad alarm cable, if you can afford it pull 2 CAT5e, even if you never end up using the second cable its only like 60$ for a 1000FT box
