buzz1167 0 Posted July 21, 2013 I started looking around and quickly found that many devices are only capable of recording at CIF and I don't think I will be happy with this resolution for any of my devices. I found a dealer on ebay selling a DVR that can support 8x D1 recording (240/200 FPS) for about $200-240 with a 1TB HDD. Either a "DNT-L3108HV-HDMI-1T" or "ELEC-CVD-2008H-1TB" or the slightly more expensive "GW9708H" which does 960H recording. Can you offer any advice either way? Anyone used either of these? Im leaning towards the ELEC brand, mostly because I don't think I'm going to find a real difference and its a few bucks cheaper. They claim all the standard email alerts, motion detection, etc... My 2nd question is what cameras to buy. The ones that they sell in the package deal for $400 are all (510x492) 1/3" Sony CCD with 3.6mm Lenses. That isn't even D1 resolution yet, so I feel like for a little bit more (around $150) I could get some better cameras to take full advantage of the resolution recording I can do. I looked around on here for ideas and saw some gadspot recommendations. I'm looking at getting the PAL versions because I dont think I care that I loose 5fps for some "free" resolution. I was thinking of 6x GS828EF and 1x GS260B and 1x GS5002. (Just because they don't have more than 6 PAL 828EF's in stock, and the 260B has a variable focal length because I'm sure I'll want to try it Everything but the 260B have some WDR feature? I hope this helps for any outside "features" I might get from the sun or from neighbors lights at night. All that comes out to around $570 or so. Does anyone see any problems or have any comments on the items I'm looking at?
