stubbs 0 Posted July 24, 2013 I have seen and advert form a company in Hong Kong that allows multiple cameras to be sent down one wire pair. Does anyone have any information on it or UK suppliers. Thanks
stubbs 0 Posted July 24, 2013 Or indeed a low cost fibre converter. Basically I need 5-6 analogue cameras down one Cat5 or over 1 fibre. Thanks
Securame 0 Posted July 24, 2013 On the first post you said one wire pair, but a Cat5 is 4 pairs... Anyway, if you do have one Cat5 cable, I think that the easiest way would be to just install a DVR, and use the Cat5 cable for connecting it to the network. SectorSecurity 0 Posted July 24, 2013 If you are trying to use a single CAT5e cable to give you the video signal from several cameras you can connect up to 4 cameras to a single CAT5e cable, you have 4 pairs, use 1 pair for each camera. You will need Baluns or a converter to convert from BNC to twisted pair. If you want more cameras you need either a second CAT5e cable or a cable with more twisted pairs.
