Need advice on a Security System for home

I am looking for a surveillance system for my home. I see a ton of different systems out there and don't know the ins and outs of a good system. I'm not afraid to spend the money for a decent system, I just don't know which way to go. I'm looking for at least eight cameras system for my home. Can anyone give some advise on a decent system with the pros and cons.

 

I've looked at Lorax, Samsung and a few other, but really don't know which ones are actually worth it. Also any info on analog vs IP or other cameras would be helpful

I am not that experianced but usually it depends on what type of system you are looking for, personally I would go IP because of flexibility or choice and the ability to use analytics, but hey if your only looking to record/moniter a dvr system is fine. Just find the cheapest one with good reviews (no reviews is bad)

When I first dipped my toe into this hobby, I started out with 1 CNB analog camera and a capture card. I was immediately put off by the interlacing artifacts. That equipment now sits in the closet; I switched to progressive-scan IP cameras and never looked back. To me the sharp, clear, high-res picture is worth the additional cost.
