Need help/advice choosing a security system

I'm new to this but do have a little electronic experience under my belt. I'm looking for a complete system for my folks. They live out in the country with little to no light around except for the outside light. My budget is $500, I know not much but all I can do at the moment but hoping to upgrade.

 

I figure a 4 camera system for now, I was wanting something with 600 tvl or so or at least something with decent clarity & night vision & capible to record up to at least 1-2 weeks. I realize thats a big stretch on a shoestring budget. They have had prowlers around while they been gone.I was looking at a couple systems but dont know much about this stuff..Any help would be greatly appeciated. these are the 3 Ive been looking at..

For what you need and the money you have I would say that the Lorex system:

is a good bet. But I will warn you that those 60ft cables never go as far as you think, and are bulky to get through walls.

 

Also those camera mounts tend to droop over time.
