bltpyro 0 Posted July 29, 2013 Are there any decently inexpensive (<400) outdoor POE cameras that have built in PIR? Or would it be better to just get a separate PIR sensor?
buellwinkle 0 Posted July 29, 2013 Can get pricy as first you need a camera with alarm i/o, that alone raises the bar on costs. Then you need an outdoor PIR which seem to run in the $80-120 range. Then you need to get 12vdc power to the PIR. I'll throw out Mobotix as having this built in but in reality, the range is so limited I haven't found use for it on any of the installed cameras. For now, the least expensive camera with alarm i/o is the higher end Dahua like the ipc-hfw-3200C and by the time you add an outdoor PIR and power supply, may be a little over $400. I'm working on a camera I want to import that will be under $200 and has alarm i/o but that's about a month out. The problem is many of the new cameras are using pigtails for Ethernet connectivity and forgo alarm i/o and 2 way audio in return for a pretty install.
