DVR DDNS port forwarding

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone!

I try to view my dvr through internet via ddns.

My network setup is like this:

1. ISP to NanoBridge M5 which has static IP 192.168.1.1 and does the PPPoE

2. Nanobridge to TP-link WR741ND (WAN connection type set to Dynamic IP mode) which gets 192.168.1.100 as WAN IP and 192.168.0.1 LAN IP.

3. The router connects to a 24 port switch (TP-link)

4. The DVR connects to the switch and is set for ddns.

Now if I enable the DDNS option on the router , forward ports for DVR and try to access my dvr through the internet i get to the setup preferences of Nanobridge.

The same happens if I enable DDNS on the Nanobridge with ports forwarded for the DVR (for 192.168.0.200).

My previous setup was like this :

1. ISP to Nanobridge working as bridge

2. Nanobridge to router and PPPoE was done there(to the router)

3.router to switch

4.switch to DVR.

With this setup I could access DVR through internet but I had too many ineternet disconnections so I had to change the Wan connection type to Dynamic Ip.

For better understanding I have attached an illustration of the network.

Please give me some advice on how to solve this problem (I have been working on this 3 days now with no success).

Thank you in advance!

Change the web port on your DVR to something different than 80, I recommend 90.

Forward port 90 TCP/UDP on the nanobridge to 192.168.1.100

Forward port 90 TCP/UDP on the WR741 to 192.168.0.200

Repeat for any other ports that your DVR needs.

Thank you for your reply!

I have tried your suggestion with no success.

Now i Have changed my setup like this:

Nanobridge->Switch->DVR

still the same. When I try to connect to the DVR through mysite.mydomain.com I get to the AirOs settings of Nanobridge (when I am locally connected to the network) and nothing happens when I connect through internet.

Thank you for your effort

You can not have a WAN IP of 192.168.0.100 this is a class C private address and is not internet routable.

use a website like canyouseeme to determine your external IP.

You are right!

I forgot to mention that the PPPoE is done on the nanobridge and DHCP is enabled.

Now I managed to connect through internet by enabling DMZ and disabling the port forwarding.

This works only through mysite:mydomain:port in internet explorer but not through the software that came with the dvr AND only if I connect outside the network .. (if connected when still on the network that the DVR is set I still get to the nanobridge settings page).
