hexproject 0 Posted August 1, 2013 OSD on Swann HDIP camera is non-existent?? Compared to Swann HD SDI camera. Can someone from Swann tell me why is that??? Can't change the orientation, etc on it at all???
Securame 0 Posted August 1, 2013 You haven't used many IP cameras, have you? IP cameras have no "OSD" menus, since all the configuration is done via the camera's web interface.
daveshoot 0 Posted August 1, 2013 I have 2 pages of OSD settings. I wish Swann exposed all the video control settings that the Hikvision allows, instead!
hexproject 0 Posted August 1, 2013 hi, Thanks! Even if it's hooked up to a NVR? Since NVR controls the IP address. how to do i know the address to change the OSD? So it's done with the web interface, and not the NVR? since NVR has limited OSD as well, i thought that was it... thanks for clarification. I will try it out. daveshoot 0 Posted August 1, 2013 The screen shots are of IE9 browsing to the NVR. NVR takes care of addressing the individual cameras over its own network, but you can see the cam IPs if you want, down at the Camera Management menu selection. If you are right at the NVR with the live view, it has the same settings displayed a little differently (like the NVR Client windows app). And then, you can run the Swannview NVR Client, and access (via the NVR) from there. So there are at least 3 ways to access the same feature set. Unfortunately, the more useful settings for f/stop, WDR, etc. still appear to be inaccessible with any of them. These are more important to me than the OSD settings, since the night vision is rather disappointing. I know these cams can do much better. In the Display options, you can drag the displays to where you want them for each camera. There are red highlights, move with the mouse, and the display will follow. hexproject 0 Posted August 2, 2013 yeah, i was trying to get f/stop. shutter, etc. which is on the HD SDI OSD menu.... Per: http://swann.com/downloads/manuals/pro_osd/SDI_OSD_MSDIOSD030713E.pdf which has way more features than the NVR setup... looks like HD SDI it is..
