brcarls 0 Posted August 7, 2013 I bought an ACTi E33 but have found that the motion detection on it is just a dumb pixel count and is useless in my installation. When it is adjusted so that it can detect a human in a tightly restricted motion detection window, I still get dozens of false positives a day from shadows, light levels adjusting, etc. The answer is probably a PIR, but this camera does not have an input for a PIR. It can be triggered by another device hitting it's URL though. So my question is what is the easiest/lowest cost way to get a PIR onto my network that can send an URL to the E33? A low res camera maybe? Any suggestions if this is the way to go?
prd 0 Posted August 8, 2013 if the camera has an alarm input, you can use a generic PIR sensor...
brcarls 0 Posted August 9, 2013 It does not have any inputs which is the issue. I was hoping to be able to trigger it with an url command from a pir somehow... Any 5mp cam with I/o costs over double the e33.
prd 0 Posted August 9, 2013 never heard of stand alone network pir sensor but risco has some ip modules that might help you, although they can just send email!
