jmcu 0 Posted August 16, 2013 Hi, Does anyone have any info on hooking up a mic to a SD6982A-HN PTZ cam ? I have a mic that is hooked up direct to my dahua hybrid dvr but it can only go to the audio in - on ch 1-4. Being a hybrid my ip starts at ch 9. Can I hook up a mic to the ptz so it comes over the ip camera via channel 9 ? Do I only supply the cam the input and it comes in via cat 5 ? The cam has white-in, blk- gnd and red- out. No 5.5mm x 2.1mm plug I have a mic with rca plug, I assume I will have to supply power to it as I am now. http://www.cctvcamerapros.com/Audio-Surveillance-Microphone-p/mic-cctv-02.htm Different type of mic needed? Any info would be a great help.. Thanks
vector18 1 Posted August 16, 2013 You will be able to connect the mic to the camera itself. The analog mic inputs are for analog cameras because the inputs are for video only. An IP camera and network channel on your hybrid can handle video, data for ptz, and audio.
