mattbrailsford 0 Posted August 17, 2013 Hi Guys, I'm new to the forum and to CCTV in general, so please bare with me if my knowledge isn't that great. I've recently purchased a Qvis iBox NVR (http://www.easysecuritydirect.com/ip-surveillance/network-recorder/qvis-labs-iBox-16-channel-network-video-recorder-with-poe) and have one of these IP cameras connected to it (http://www.jmcsecure.co.uk/proddetail.asp?prod=11614GAW). I've successfully got it showing the camera feed, and have it recording in manual mode. However, I can't for the life of me get it to work with motion detection. I've followed the instruction here (http://www.qvissecurity.com/support/documents/HOWTOSETUPMOTIONRECORDINGONAPOLLO_003.pdf) but it just never detects motion ie, the little icon never displays. My question then is, does the camera itself need to support motion detection? or should the NVR do the detecting and the IP camera just needs to provide the feed? If that is the case, does anyone have any ideas why it wouldn't be working? Many thanks Matt
