tombeckeran 0 Posted August 21, 2013 Spent almost 4k on an install of seven Eclipse 750TL Sony CCD outdoor bullet cameras (ECL-599HT model),. a Plex16 HDMI DVR with DI recording, 1,000 feet of cable and programming. Below are photos of live streaming. Are the photos typical or do I need different equipment and or a better installer? Again, 750 TL sony CCD woth OSD. I haven't heard back from my installer so i am posting here. The images look blocky, grainy and cloudy in some areas. Although it did rain here earlier, the are actually some of the BEST images I have gotten since last week. Shouldn't they look kick but? Even the white date and time stamps look blocky. Neutech 0 Posted August 21, 2013 It looks to me like you viewing the SubStream not Main Stream Is the DVR connected to a Monitor?Tv?or do you view via PC/Laptop?
tombeckeran 0 Posted August 21, 2013 I am logged in at work. The image quality on the in-house networked computer is the same. I have not hooked up a monitor directly to the DVR. Another strange note, the image quality on my 3G iphone is better than what I seen on the network computer or from work every time. Will the substream look that much degraded even when I am inside the home on the same network?
YW84U 0 Posted August 22, 2013 It is the substream you are looking at, which is probably CIF and not D1 resolution - the area I circled shows you the stream of each camera, and in your case on Cam 7 the red status indicates substream. Another way to quickly tell is that the time stamp and camera name will appear "larger" on the substream than when on the master stream. The easiest way to switch (as it will be substream by default each login) is to right click anywhere in the cam image and a menu will allow you to switch either the current or all cameras to the mater stream - I've attached a pic showing the menu below, and the difference when it is on master: (Bear in mind that the image quality is not 100% in my screen shots, since the images are scaled up in size and slightly pixelated as a result) The only caveat is that if all cams are set to master simultaneously, it may choke up your bandwidth depending on your settings and your internet service provider bitrates. On a local network this is usually not an issue, but from remote logins, it may bog down and not have a smooth framerate. Substream will usually look better on smaller devices (Android, iPhone etc) due to the smaller screen size. Your very best images will appear on the live output connected directly to a monitor to the DVR. Play around with the various streams and see how your network handles the traffic Hope that helps! tombeckeran 0 Posted August 22, 2013 Your right, the master stream made a noticeable difference. I noted your image quality is really good compared to mine. My cameras are mounted about 13 feet from the ground. Images look blurry beyond 25 feet in the day. Often times the images blur. Can you comment on my equipment? Here it is: The cameras : Seven outdoor Eclipse ECL-599HT vandal cameras. 750 TL, Sony 1/3 Super Hd color CCD 1/3" megapixel 4.3mm aspherical IR corrected 12 IR LEDs 2 high intensity LEDs .5 LUx, 0.0 LUX with R on shutter: AES (OSD control) WHitebalance: ATW Weather rating: IP66 The DVR: Plex 16 HDMI 16-CH DVR H.264 compression Recording resolution 720x480 D1 Display frame rate 480 ips Cable: 1,000 feet. Not sure of the brand.
