Swann NVR8-7200 Substream + SWANN VIEW Plus app question.

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I have a strange problem that i cant seem to find the answer too. I have the Swann 1080p kit with 4 cameras. I set the substream to be 704 resolution with 1792kbps bit rate. This was set at 1792 bit rate because that is the highest it will allow me to select in the option settings. Now, when i use the Swann View Plus app i select sub stream i can set the bit rate to 2048bps which makes the picture much crisper and cleaner. The problem I have are two,

1. Why is the remote configuration via DDNS page only offer 1792bps where the SWANN app shows as high as 8000bps?

2. When I set the desired bit rate on the SWANN app to 2048bps on all 4 channels, after about 15 minutes i go back in - the value is changed to 512bps or something different almost each time. Why?. Is this variable? will it always change? If so, any way i can make it accept 20048bps at all times no matter what? I prefer this because there is a pretty noticeable difference from 1792, to 20048 as the picture quality for me personally is clearer.

Thank you!

I cant answer your question as for as the values go. However the substream is only used for mobile and local display views (not playback), with that being said the higher you set it the more you are askign out of the system, network connections, the mobile app and its data connection.
