akshion 0 Posted August 22, 2013 Past few days I've been researching for cctv setup for friend of mine and I stump to this awesome place. So many educational informations are shared here. Fist of all I am a newbie to this. Only few experience with analog systems. This warehouse is about 60,0000 sq ft. And it's 200 x 300 with docking station. My friend place already has 8 channel system but he want to upgrade to higher resolution cameras. And I recommend that he should add hd camera with hybrid dvrs. And I'm having hard time finding reputable online store to purchase equipments. Is there any store you guys would recommend? And as for camera we are looking for low light condition camera due to lighting inside the warehouse. Any suggestion. Please help

PokerMunkee 0 Posted August 25, 2013 I'm happy using 3XLOGIC's Vigil system in our 9 casinos. I have it running on Dell PowerEdge systems but you can buy a 3u or 4u system with 32 channels (hybrid) for around $5K. You'll be able to use the 8 analog cameras and then add 24 IP megapixel cameras.
milkisbad 0 Posted September 6, 2013 Hi, Please keep in mind distance limitation: HD-SDI has a rating of ~150-300 ft for RG59, after 300 ft you can get a repeater (which has to be powered), then extend another 300 ft. IP typically can go 300 ft per device. i.e. camera<--->300 ft poe switch<--300 ft---> router <---300 ft---> NVR. They also have repeaters for this. In my opinion, hybrid NVR are so expensive. Maybe get a DVR then another NVR and combine the two with a VMS software. (same brand DVR and NVR, I mean.) I work for a distributor but we only sell to installers/reseller who then sells/install it for their customers. If you are a new installer (or thinking of becoming one) maybe they will sell it to you, we are based in Queens, NYC. Please PM me if you would like more information. But we don't have online stores though, you will have to call our salespeople. Your first step however, is to decide IP vs HD-SDI and the number of cameras you need. MR2 0 Posted September 9, 2013 Move to IP, run PoE switch's on the warehouse pillars and just run cables out as required. we have quite a few warehouses of around half that size and we just run fiber to each cabinet (mounted on the pillars or whatever) the fiber breaks out into a managed PoE switch and off you go. tesc_cctvpro 0 Posted October 13, 2013 Since you have already defined the technical specifications of the cameras you will be using, I would be interested to know wether you have defined the operational requirements of the system. How do you plan to deploy the cameras to control vendor theft, order filing deviations, inventory flow control, etc?
