smokingjoe 0 Posted August 24, 2013 Hi All I am installing a 6 camera video surveillance system in a small club and I need to add a spot monitor near the bar. This monitor will be powered on for around 9 hours every day. What would be the best choice, PC monitor or LCD TV, for this spot monitor? I plan on using a BNC to VGA converter if I go with the PC monitor and a BNC to RCA adapter if I go with the LCD TV. Also if I go with the PC monitor would it be best to put the BNC to VGA converter at the DVR or out by the monitor? Distance between DVR and spot monitor is around 60 ft. luckyfella 0 Posted August 24, 2013 My personal choice for your situation would be an LCD TV. The smaller ones are so cheap, thin, and light these days. As far as the converter goes, you do not have a choice where it goes. It must go at the TV because your running a coax from the DVR to the TV and you have to convert the BNC on the end of the coax to VGA so it can plug into the TV. smokingjoe 0 Posted August 25, 2013 Thanks for the advise. I will be installing this next weekend so I will look around for a good deal on a small LCD TV.
