luckyfella 0 Posted August 29, 2013 A pic of the front panel probably would have been the best pic you could have posted. The menu looks like Dahua or a rebranded version of Dahua.

tomcctv 190 Posted August 29, 2013 Are there any benefits to upgrading the firmware on this unit (assuming its the dahua?) Hi. it is 100% a dahua. upgrading firmware on that model is not that simple. you can only use region settings. NTSC to NTSC or PAL to PAL you cant go NTSC to PAL or other way. is there a reason to upgrade ??
dinde 0 Posted August 29, 2013 I see no reason to upgrade unless there are new, useful features that can be made available. it is NTSC. The dealer swears its a dahua but I got a shady feeling from him - which is why I came here to verify. thanks tom - what would you say is a fair price for this unit? (am I allowed to ask that?) I paid 400 CAD.. he tried to charge me 450 saying that his associate told me the "dealer price" by accident, so my BS meter was going off from the start.. tomcctv 190 Posted August 29, 2013 Hi. price is not bad. the software on the DVR is standard but it will work and give you other options when you control from a PC with the latest PSS software. also the remote cell software has just had an update so I think it has everything you need.
