tdenson 0 Posted September 5, 2013 I have one of these and I can run Web Service quite happily over the LAN, but as soon as I try to access it remotely it doesn't work. (I have forwarded the appropriate port etc). Do other people have this working ? One other problem as well with the LAN based Web Service is that I can't play back recordings. The on screen options do not match what the user manual says and there is no playback option.
light27 0 Posted September 10, 2013 Are you sure that you forwarded the appropriate port?
luckyfella 0 Posted September 10, 2013 Which ddns service are you using?
buellwinkle 0 Posted September 10, 2013 You forwarded the 3 required ports and it still doesn't work, that can't be good. Are you trying to access it using your WAN address at home, because some routers block this. One way is to have someone outside your network run a port scan, I use nmap, to determine if those 3 ports are truly open as sometimes what you think is open is not because of other issues. I have the playback tab on the cameras that have SD card storage, like my IPC-HFW3300C. It was introduced in the May firmware release.
tdenson 0 Posted September 10, 2013 Are you sure that you forwarded the appropriate port? Actually I'm not. As it happens, since I posted the original message I have now got it half working. I can get the Web Service login dialogue, but when I log in I get the message "Main Connect Fail". I have forwarded the HTTP and RTSP ports, but do I need to also forward either the TCP or UDP port ? The manual has nothing to say on the matter.
tdenson 0 Posted September 10, 2013 Which ddns service are you using? I'm not, as I have a fixed ip address.
