DS2 3.0 (006)-NET DVTR Hard Drive Upgrade

I have a lot of these DVRs and have replaced many hard drives.

This particular one, DS2 3.0 (006)-NET DVTR Hard Drive Upgrade, won't seem to take the new hard drive, 500Gb Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 when upgrading to 3.1 (090) DVTR.

 

Is there a rule of thumb for hard drive sizes for these older DS2 DVRs?

 

I also have 3.1 (090) DVTR and 3.1 (152) DVTX DVRs.

I've put a 750Gb hard drive in one of them, but usually end up with 320Gb hard drives.

I also found that the new Western Digital 320GB hard drives won't work.
