glindell 0 Posted September 19, 2013 I wish to replace my dead Q-See system with a new dedicated NVR IP 1080p system that has software support for a mac. The only vendor I found with a MAC client was Lorex. Any ideas for a solution? I would also like the flexibility to connect cameras into my LAN (PoE of course). Note little discussion of Lorex in this forum, which may tell me something. It seems no other vendor cameras are compatible with Lorex which seems unreasonably restrictive. I am new to this but I would imagine there is a standard protocol for all cameras and you need only identify the camera by IP address to the NVR to enable configuration/setup. I would also like the flexibility to connect cameras into my LAN (PoE of course) which Lorex does not support. If I were to forget about the MAC client issue I was looking at offerings from Active-Vision, for which I have seen no discussion on this forum. Maybe another off-brand. Any suggestions?
