tennvol 0 Posted September 23, 2013 I ordered and received the Costco Swann bullet cameras (2 pack for $350) and hooked everything up for a bench test before mounting it. Everything was stable and I decided to flash the Hikvision firmware for the IR control and better resolution. After the firmware flash I constantly get signal drop outs on BlueIris. I've tried everything, rebooting the camera, rebooting the router, moving the resolution from 3MP back to 1080p with no luck. Any suggestions? I'm running BlueIris on a dedicated i7 computer with 4 ACTI E84 cameras running without issue. Odd thing is even with the drop outs on the Swann's my ACTI's all hold steady with no issues. If it was a bandwidth issue I would think that I would have problems with all my cameras. I checked Speedtest.net and I'm pulling 52MB/s down so I don't think that's the problem. Edited to add that the firmware now reads V5.0.2 130805
MaxIcon 0 Posted September 23, 2013 You might want to post over at the Blue Iris forum - cam-it.org - as they're a good resource for BI problems. One thing that can help dropouts in BI is to set your i-frame the same as your fps. So, if you're running 15 fps, set the i-frame to 15 as well.
Swann Tech 0 Posted September 24, 2013 Always, ALWAYS, perform a factory reset after flashing firmware. Some settings can be left behind from the old firmware which have the potential to cause problems later on. That is all the advice I can give you. Some of the other forum dwellers might have alternative solutions.
